Rich History
Nijmegen, the oldest city of the Netherlands has invested a lot in showing off it history. The city has marked the most important locations and the early city parks have been fully restored to their old luster.
Dining experiences and bars
Nijmegen is clearly marked by its 15,000 university students, allowing for a varied supply of restaurants (MANNA!) and bars (again MANNA!), café’s, disco’s and night clubs. During the summer you will find it convenient to locate a terrace for coffee, a drink or lunch/dinner. The centrally located boulevard called “De Waalkade” also houses a Casino, Grand Café’s, restaurants, and perfect view points for overseeing the river “De Waal.” Nijmegen has a great variety of theatres, cinemas and concert halls: De City Theatre; Concert Hall “De Vereeniging”; LUX, the biggest Art-house of Europe; The Pop Shrine Doornroosje; etc.
The country side
Nijmegen is also known as a green-inspired city. The city has many parks to offer, but the country side, just beyond the city borders you will find two outstanding nature reserves, among the best in the country named “Het Rijk van Nijmegen,” and “De Ooijpolder.” You are deemed to be entertained and gain a wonderful experience.
